Nutritional Therapy Services

What

Nutritional therapy takes a holistic approach to wellness and seeks to correct the nutritional deficiencies and imbalances within the body that lead to disease and dysfunction. Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (NTPs) use a variety of tools to identify and correct these imbalances. If you are suffering from chronic illness, battling weight issues, or are otherwise dissatisfied with your health and well-being, there is hope. Nutritional therapy can enable you to take back your health and dramatically improve your quality of life.

Why

Maybe you are struggling with your weight, counting calories and depriving yourself of the foods your body craves in an effort to shed pounds. Maybe you have a diagnosed chronic condition that is costing you your quality of life. Maybe you are sick of being tired, but you’ve been told there is nothing wrong with you because all of your labs are normal. Or, you’ve been told that whatever health problems you may be experiencing are very “common”, but no one has been able to explain the root cause of them, or offer solutions other than pharmaceutical drugs.

Act Now

If any of these sound familiar, you aren’t crazy, lazy, or doomed to cope with sub-optimal health for the rest of your life. The good news is that humans were not designed to be sick, overweight, or tired. Our natural state is one of health and vitality. Much of the damage we have done to our bodies as a result of processed foods, exposure to toxins, and chronic stress can be reversed. Some conditions are not reversible but can be managed without being dependent on medications. Our bodies are remarkably resilient and adaptive machines when properly fueled and balanced.

Private Consulting

NTPs use a variety of tools to create a comprehensive assessment and individualized recommendation plan for each client. These tools include:

  • Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ)

  • Detailed health history and lifestyle overview

  • Food journal

  • Functional evaluation (hands-on palpitations of various reflexes in the body to identify weakness and deficiencies)

  • Lingual-neuro testing (using the autonomic nervous system response to determine exactly what nutrient or supplement will work for a particular client

If further testing and evaluation is warranted, appropriate referrals will be made. Nutritional therapy is based on the concept of bioindividuality. Bioindividuality essentially means that because we are all a little genetically different, our bodies have different needs. One person might respond very well to a certain dietary protocol and another would have a negative reaction to it. Have you ever watched a friend switch to a paleo or a vegetarian diet with great results, only to try it yourself and feel worse? Many diets out there claim to be the one and only path to wellness, but the truth is that there are many paths to the same destination. There are a lot of factors that play into health and wellness, and nutritional therapy seeks to identify each client’s bioindividual needs and create protocols for healing accordingly. NTP’s don’t just tell you what to eat and what not to eat; they educate you on the how and why certain foods impact your body the way they do. This will provide you with the tools you need to enjoy long-term, sustainable health and vitality.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and I don’t diagnose. Instead I work with clients to bring balance and health through nutrition, focusing on the FOUNDATIONS of good digestion, blood-sugar handling, healthy fats, mineral balance and proper hydration, all as part and parcel of a nutrient-dense, properly prepared diet. Clients are advised to make health decisions in partnership with their health care provider. If you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or are taking any medication, please consult your physician before making dietary and lifestyle changes.
